We had the perfect view from our house for the fireworks in Butte. I have never seen so many fireworks set off in neighborhoods in my life! There was firework after firework for 6 hours straight. The city put on a great show and after what we thought was the end of the show, you could hear the town yelling for more fireworks... and they did more. It was crazy!
My dad came to visit on the 4th of July. He's walking Challis and Ginger to the parade!
Me and Challis have been going home to Pocatello once a month to help my dance studio with summer dance camp. We try to squeeze in a visit to our friends when we have a spare minute. Challis and Brooklyn enjoyed the big swings at Brooklyn's Playground.
Daddy and Challis playing on the old-school swing set at a park in Butte.
One thing we have learned about Butte is that they like to party... There has been a festival or actvity of some sort going on every weekend since we have moved. Challis was nibbling on some popcorn at the Folk Festival. They bring in bands from all over the world and have music playing for 3 days straight... We went for the yummy food :)
Daddy and Challis getting in their morning fishing. Challis is never quite sure what to think of the fish when brady pulls it out of the water, but he makes sure we know that the fish has eyes, a nose, a mouth, and a tail. He's pretty cute!
Challis helps Daddy fish by throwing rocks into the river haha. This time he was brave enough to get his toes wet.
Catch of the day!!
Playing by the river
Evel Knievel was born and raised in Butte. Every year they hold Evel Kenievel Day's. I have never been to a town that will shut down five or six blocks, haul in loads of dirt to dump in the middle of the road, and create jumps on every block for all the bikers that come to perform. We were able to watch races, jump tricks, a Skywalk (sorry no pics), and the Wall of Death. This was a really fun weekend!
This is the Wall of Death. It is hard to get a still picture because the bikers are going so fast but the ride on the vertical part of the wall... and do tricks while doing it. It was CRAZY!
This is how Challis prefered to watch the BMX bikers... crazy kid!
Challis LOVES books!
Great-Grandma Lowry was able to make a visit up to Butte! Challis was teaching her how to golf.
The fair was in town and we were very busy the weekend it was here but we were able to jump over and see the goats. Challis would feed them hay through the fence and the goats enjoyed it as much as he did!
This is another camping trip. We are enjoying Montana! Once again Challis is helping Dad fish by getting ready to toss a rock into the river!
Heidi joined us on this camping trip and claimed that she didn't know how to fish in a small river.... Well she caught more than Brady so she must know something!
A Daddy size fish and a Challis size fish
That evening we had a crazy hail storm come through! It looked like it was winter outside and it was very loud! We were so glad we had our little tent trailer for this storm!
One morning while I was getting ready Challis got really quite, and I wondered what I was going to find... and this is what I found! He was reading books to himself and made sure he looked at every book in the basket! What a cute little man!
